Through this piece, I hoped to communicate the idea of the disappearance of wildlife in the ocean by emptying the scene of the animals which are usually the subject of my work and instead leave only a suggestion of their outline. Try to look closely and find the creatures before scrolling down to see where they are in the next picture. Sorry that the picture quality isn't the best but I will try to post a better one by Wednesday.
Questions While overall I enjoyed making this piece, what bothers me is how flat it looks. Do you have any suggestions to help with this in the future? Should I continue this train of though with drawing or return to painting? Should I add another color such as an orange-ish coral color to make the piece pop or is the monochrome more effective in the context of a fading coral reef?
